AMC CV19 support

Dear followers,

we hope you’re weathering this CV19 storm well by staying healthy, inspired, and keeping arting.

Since the life drawing events have abruptly stopped with the the lockdown, so many online art resources have popped up – on Zoom, Youtube, Facebook Live and other platforms. We at AMC love seeing models from every nook of the globe streaming their own sessions from their couch, bedroom, studio or garden. Even with technological limitations of live streaming, the sense of the community in the art world has proved to be wonderfully tightly-knit.

Although Art Model Collective sessions have yet not transitioned to online sessions, we spent 2 months keeping an eye on the pulse of online life drawing scene globally, and sharing dozens of events from our colleagues on AMC instagram every day! But as much as we’d love to keep supporting the live drawing scene, this free community service has been very time-consuming, and we have hit the point where we need to dedicate the energy to be able to afford to put bread and wine on our table.

So, how can you support us?

Well thank you for asking.

  1. You can buy an art reference photoset from one of AMC’s most popular sessions, Veiled Marble.  £25 for 50+ hi-res images, email us for details – artmodelcollective@gmail.com)
  2. You can buy a tutorial video produced by Raw Umber Studios, drawing from 3 Veiled Marble photos along with the demo by Lizet Dingemans. Buy for just £5 via Raw Umber website. More info here.
  3. On 27 May you can join another video tutorial with Raw Umber Studios, drawing a seated figure. The model, Manko, receives 50% of profits, so it’s a great way to support your model.
  4. We made a small edition of AMC patches – if you wish to just support us, but also receive something cool in return! £20, but we have just a small handful left. Email us to buy. More info here
  5. It’s never been as good a time to commission a model for an art reference photo set! Many of us have a DSLR, tripod and lights at our disposal, and are happy to create a custom photoshoot according to your requirements of lighting, poses, costume, character, etc. AMC founder Manko has indeed been busy shooting sets for artists (rates starting at £50).  If you have a favourite model and can afford to support them with a commission, now is a great time to ask!

All the best to you all, and we hope to see you before too long in the real life again.
